To find the house that's right for you, consider word of mouth, for sale signs,
newspaper ads, the internet, shoppers guides and consulting a real estate sales
professional. Realtors can provide a broad range of services including showing you
houses that meet your requirements, providing information about a neighborhood, presenting
your offer to the seller, and advising you regarding lenders, inspectors, title companies,
etc.
Usually you pay nothing for the agent's services. Instead, agents are
paid by sellers and often represent the seller's interest in the transaction. It may
be possible to locate a buyer's agent, one who will represent your interests.
However, you should find out how the buyer's agent will be paid. Will you be charged
a commission? Or will the buyer's agent split the seller's paid commission with the
seller's agent?
